Lion Dance Japanese New Year!

Inspired by the tradition of the shishimai, this illustration is a joyful celebration of the Japanese New Year. Said to have originated in China over a thousand years ago, the lion dance is a folk performance believed to bring good fortune and drive away evil spirits. This piece embodies that belief, capturing a moment of pure, innocent fun that feels perfect for both a New Year's greeting and as a standout piece in my exhibition.
