Koinobori

This image celebrates Japan's Children's Day, a vibrant festival on May 5th for children's health and prosperity. It features a child riding a majestic carp that soars above rooftops adorned with colorful koinobori (carp streamers). These carp symbolize strength and success, embodying the wish for children to grow up as resilient as a carp swimming upstream — a truly unique tradition. This piece was a highlight of my recent exhibition.
